I have read or seen the story previously, however, Doug Stanton's book is riveting. A true tribute to the courage of the men of that generation. I wonder if the Navy's handling of CMDR Scott Waddle will parallel their handling of Captain McVay?? Memorabelia: I am in possession of a ukelele that incredibly survived the Indianapolis ordeal. It was sold to my wife in 1996 for $2 by the brother, (she can't remember his name), of one of the survivors. The brother lived in, she thinks, Glen Alden, Michigan, (I can't find it on the map). At any rate, the brother lives somewhere near Traverse City. The brother apparently does not want the ukelele but I am sure someone of the survivors may. I have been trying to reach Doug Stanton but he will not reply. I note the Giles McCoy seems to be the most active historian. Does anyone know how to reach him? Thanks, Sam Brentnall
